I have a strategy for making my kids eat fruits, and like it too. Give them fruits when they are HUNGRY! I really works, instead of a potato chip snack in the midst of roller-blading, a small snack before bedtime, excellent times to get them to eat fruits. Cut the fruit to bite-site and they will really lke it. Here is one of them at 10pm at night, sharing an apple. See how happy they look?

Bacon Roll and Cheese bread
Over the weekend, tried to do up some bacon rolls and cheese bread.
Bacon Rolls: Just hearing the word 'Bacon' and I just knew it will be DELICIOUS! Actually looked quite good, BUT the taste of the bacon is not enough. I probably allowed it to over-ferment that towards the last batch, I think the yeast had exhausted itself that during the final proofing, it could not rise very much. The final batch came out VERY DENSE! Not fluffy at all.
My Fault that I did not follow the recipe. I think I will try this recipe again another time.

Cheese bread: Basically, this recipe is almost the same as the cheese cookies one, only difference is the use of self-raising flour instead of just plain flour. turned out more like a bread than a cookie. Really quite good! Especially when fresh from the oven! Definitely does not feel as rich as the cheese cookies. But I think does not keep as well as the cookies. Started to feel/taste a little stale after 2 days. Thinking if I can do up some dough and freeze it and bake it only when ready to eat. Mmmmmmm.

Cheese Cookies - First attempt
Baked some cheese cookies 2 nights ago. Turned out quite well, if I could say so myself. At least the kids liked it. Ryan loved it, Justin liked it, Shawn could tolerate it. :)
Really quite easy to make, just mix and bake. Got the recipe online http://www.myrecipes.com/recipes/. But definitely need to try a few more times as some batches turned out quite dry with a slightly burnt smell. Possibly also need to look out for how big the cookies are shape, as it will relate to moisture loss.
I will take a photo next time.

A Start!
This is my first venture into the blogging arena. I've heard about it enough. So here goes!
This blogspot is RJS.Kids which is named after my 3 children, Ryan, Justin and Shawn. After typing in the name, looks quite good right? I have not decided on the direction of this blogspot, whether will be children focused or something else.
Don't know where this will lead, but we will never know till we TRY. Well, what do I have to lose!
